Milan Machinima Festival
The Milan Machinima Festival (MMF) is a celebration of the world’s best machinima and filmmakers who utilize video games and related technologies. This annual event features a diverse selection of game-based videos created by talented artists and practitioners whose work intersects video art, cinema, animation, and gaming. The showcased artworks are chosen by an international panel of jurors and a team of curators based on their cultural significance, artistic excellence, and innovative style. We believe that the Festival’s selection represents the ingenuity, diversity, and creativity of game-based video practices. In addition to an open call for submissions, which welcomes first-time filmmakers and students, the Festival presents a variety of curated programs. Our mission is to provide quality, education, enrichment, access, and enjoyment to all members of our growing community, including audiences, students, partners, supporters, volunteers, and staff. LAGO FILM FEST
Lago Film Fest, established in 2005 in the picturesque setting of Revine Lago, is an independent festival dedicated to experimental cinema. This unique event focuses on the future of cinema through short films, thematic focuses, fireworks, festival dialogues, Barefoot Industry Days for film professionals, and the creative expanse of the village. Spanning nine days, it showcases films and directors of both present and future, fostering artistic cross-pollination and viewing cinema as an ever-evolving art form. Gargantua Film Distribution
Gargantua Film Distribution, founded by Il Varco in 2019, is a Rome-based agency specializing in promoting auteur short films that challenge traditional narratives. They focus on hybrid films bridging fiction and non-fiction, and aim to leave a lasting impact in the cinematic world. With a boutique selection, Gargantua partners closely with directors to support their transition to feature films, achieving recognition in major festivals like Cannes and Berlinale.
As a key partner, Gargantua Film Distribution offers the Distribution Award. This award provides a distribution contract to one of the participating projects, ensuring it reaches a global audience. Gorrilla Film Distribution
Gorrilla Film Distribution is a distribution and sales agency founded in 2023 by Il Varco & Eclettica, based in Milan. It focuses on the promotion of narrative and genre films with an authorial edge. The name comes from a blend of the king of the jungle—the gorilla—and the word “guerrilla,” understood as the ability to craft films through strong willpower, an intelligent use of the cinematic medium, and a creativity capable of striking audiences with powerful visions.
The agency aims to stand by and support the rarest creatures in the overcrowded film “jungle” by creating a connection between their films, international festivals, and buyers. Gorrilla is building a catalog of wild narrative films capable of crossing the boundaries between genres and speaking to a wide audience, without ever neglecting cinematic research.

GIOIA FILM DISTRIBUTION
Gioia Film, established in Rome in 2023 by Simone Fiorentino, is a distribution company specializing in short films, documentaries, and experimental works. Known for selecting films that blend realism with poetic elements, Gioia Film supports both emerging and seasoned filmmakers, helping their works gain international recognition at prestigious festivals, including Academy Awards® qualifiers.
The Gioia Award, presented by Gioia Film, offers a distribution contract to one of the participating projects. This award is a testament to Gioia Film’s commitment to supporting emerging filmmakers and ensuring their work gains the recognition it deserves.
EARLYBIRD DISTRIBUTION
EarlyBird, based in Rome, is an Italian distribution and sales company focused on short films. It was founded by Laura Catalano and Silvio Giannini, who are also producers with 8 Production, of which EarlyBird is a brand. With over ten years of experience in production, the agency carries forward its mission to offer tailored support to both directors and producers.
ALLEGORIE DISTRIBUTION
Allegorie Film is a distribution and sales agency based in Rome, founded in 2024 by Andrea Trono and Matteo De Liberato, also producers with One Shot. The agency focuses on the world that comes to life in the minds of the authors and lies hidden behind every frame of their works.
SOTTOPELLE
Sottopelle is an independent distribution collective supporting films that are grounded in research and engage critically with the reality around them. The collective prioritizes politically conscious works that challenge dominant power structures, question the Western gaze, and foreground intersectional feminist perspectives, with particular attention to films that open a space for reflection, dialogue, and new ways of seeing.
TAFANO
Tafano is a cultural association based in Milan that deals with cinema and disciplines related to the audiovisual world. The components are directors, critics and professionals of the sector. Tafano is animated by a passion for research and by the constant debate around the link between images and the contemporary.
Since 2016 Tafano has been organizing cinematographic events and film reviews, through collaboration with various local realities.
It organizes cinema workshops in schools and other structures, with the aim of providing participants to read and understand the world of moving images.
Tafano also deals with production, creating cinematographic and video works in order to experiment and critically reflect on the world of images. Each project is supported by the publication of critical texts and visual material, aimed at deepening the themes investigated.
